Christ was not a Sacrifice for Sin


Christ came to show the wisdom of God, it was the pharisees who sentenced him to death and then proclaimed, he was a sin offering.
Many people believe that a human sacrifice was needed to redeem us to God, yet this was not what Yeshua stated he came for. This only came about from the Pharisee perspective on things. As both John the Baptist and Yeshua preached repentance for the forgiveness of sins. So what did Yeshua say that makes it so Evident that this is not the case as later taught by Paul and John.

Mat 9:13 but go and learn what this is; I desire mercy and not sacrifice. For I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.

Yeshua said this to the Pharisees in the hopes they would know the Bible, yet clearly they did not, though it may sound strange, as this was what they were supposed to know, being scholars of the Bible.

Later he asked them again, yet still no reply from them, this time including that they conspired to have him put to death. We are told in John, as he was a member of the Pharisee high council, that it was Caiaphas who original came up with the idea to have it that one man should die for the worlds sin, not this was the plan of God as portrayed by Paul.

(51) And he did not speak this of himself, but being high priest that year, he prophesied that Yeshua should die for the nation; (52) and not for that nation only, but also that He should gather together in one the children of God who were scattered abroad.

If you can now see, it was not Yeshua's purpose to be killed as a sacrifice, yet the Pharisees to make him a sin offering. So what did he mean and what was he referring too, when he said I desire mercy and not sacrifice.

Hos 6:6 for I desired mercy, and not sacrifice; and the knowledge of God more than burnt offerings.

Yeshua was pointing people to God and not him self, as many now believe due to John and Paul. Also he made it clear that the knowledge of God is more important then sacrifices and especially him self, as he came to show us some of the wisdom of god, so we killed him and then turned him into a sin offering.

(12) When you come to appear before me, who has required this at your hand, to trample my courts? (13) Bring no more vain sacrifice; incense is an abomination to me; the new moon and Sabbath, the going to meeting; I cannot endure evil and the assembly! (14) Your new moons and your appointed feasts my soul hates; they are a trouble to me; I am weary to bear them. (15) And when you spread out your hands, I will hide my eyes from you; yea, when you make many prayers, I will not hear; your hands are full of blood. (16) Wash yourselves, make yourselves clean; put away the evil of your doings from before my eyes; cease to do evil; (17) learn to do good; seek judgment, reprove the oppressor. Judge the orphan, plead for the widow.

Here we have two accounts of where God has asked for judgment and justice, over ritualistic sacrifice. So when Christ said he came to fulfill the law he was asking for the same thing, yet this has been disguised by the Pharisees.

Mar 12:32-34 And the scribe said to Him, Right, Teacher, according to truth You have spoken, that God is one, and there is no other besides Him. (33) And to love Him with all the heart, and with all the understanding, and with all the soul, and with all the strength, and to love the neighbor as himself, is more than all the burnt offerings and sacrifices. (34) And seeing that he had answered intelligently, Yeshua said to him, you are not far from the kingdom of God. And no one dared to question Him any more.

This is quite evident that the scribe who answered was on the right track to heaven from what Yeshua was saying, so again confirming this same principle, that the knowledge of God is more valuable then sacrifices. Now many might ask didn't Isaiah 53 prophecies that this would happen, so lets go through it step by step and what was meant.

Isa 53:1-12 who has believed our report? And to whom is the arm of Jehovah revealed? (2) For He comes up before Him as a tender plant, and as a root out of a dry ground; He has no form nor majesty that we should see Him, nor an appearance that we should desire Him. (3) He is despised and rejected of men; a Man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief; and as it were a hiding of faces from Him, He being despised, and we esteemed Him not. (4) Surely He has borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows; yet we esteemed Him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. (5) But He was wounded for our transgressions; He was bruised for our iniquities; the chastisement of our peace was on Him; and with His stripes we ourselves are healed.

Now here this is quite clear it was Yeshua and the things that occurred are as spoken. Yet no man can take another's sins, only God can forgive sin.

(6) All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned, each one to his own way; and Jehovah has laid on Him the iniquity of us all.

Now since the coming of Christ as he put him self it has caused division and more conflict as many follow the Pharisees and not the word he spoke.

(7) He was oppressed, and He was afflicted; yet He opened not His mouth. He is brought as a lamb to the slaughter; and as a sheep before its shearers is dumb, so He opened not His mouth. (8) He was taken from prison and from judgment; and who shall declare His generation? For He was cut off out of the land of the living; for the transgression of my people He was stricken. (9) And He put His grave with the wicked and with a rich one in His death; although He had done no violence, nor was any deceit in His mouth. (10) Yet it pleased Jehovah to crush Him; to grieve Him; that He should put forth His soul as a guilt-offering. He shall see His seed, He shall prolong His days, and the will of Jehovah shall prosper in His hand.

Now this point is not often shown to people, that we make him grief as we make his soul a sin or guilt offering as spoken here. Too many after reading the words of the Pharisees are blinded to what it says here. This may be hard to digest, as it may still seem that unless blood is given no sin can be cleansed, yet not mans blood, the Bible states.

(11) He shall see the fruit of the travail of His soul. He shall be fully satisfied. By His knowledge shall my righteous Servant justify for many; and He shall bear their iniquities.

Then if you realize that we are told by Yeshua, that we will be judged by the words he spoke. Then if when Paul and John is removed it is clear that what is taught cause many to contradict the Bible and what Yeshua taught.

(12) Therefore I will divide to Him with the great, and He shall divide the spoil with the strong; because He has poured out His soul to death; and He was counted among the transgressors; and He bore the sin of many, and made intercession for transgressors.

Now this end part may make many think, that what was taught by the Pharisees was correct, that Yeshua blood covers their sins. Yet this is not the case instead it means he may explain the sins to the father. It is like this parable Yeshua stated not all the debt is taken.

Luk 16:1-8 And He also said to His disciples, there was a certain rich man who had a steward. And he was accused to him, that he had wasted his goods. (2) And he called him and said to him, what is this I hear about you? Give an account of your stewardship, for you may no longer be steward. (3) And the steward said within himself, what shall I do? For my lord is taking the stewardship away from me. I cannot dig; I am ashamed to beg. (4) I know what I will do, so that when I am put out of the stewardship they may receive me into their houses. (5) So he called every one of his lord's debtors and said; to the first, how much do you owe my lord? (6) And he said A hundred baths of oil. And he said to him, Take your bill and sit down quickly and write fifty. (7) And he said to another, and how much do you owe? And he said A hundred cors of wheat. And he said to him, Take your bill and write eighty. (8) And the unjust steward's lord commended him because he had done wisely. For the children of this world are in their generation wiser than the children of light.

So you still have to pay the steward and the steward is God, Christ may make intercession (plead the case) for people, yet the final debt must still be paid. The debt is the sins you have committed with in your life, an intercessor can explain things and even pass them to the person in concern, yet doesn't do what the judge does, in this case God.
So to be forgiven you need to repent to God, forgive all those who have hurt you and learn to be a good person. Not believe that one mans faith can cover your sin and make it so you can get into Heaven.
