Did Jesus and his disciples teach the doctrine of the Trinity?

Did Jesus and his disciples teach the doctrine of the Trinity? Did church leaders of the next several centuries teach it? In the year 381 C.E., another council met in Constantinople and declared that the holy spirit should be worshiped and glorified just as the Father and Son were. One year later, in 382 C.E., another synod met in Constantinople and affirmed the full divinity of the holy spirit.4 That same year, before a council in Rome, Pope Damasus presented a collection of teachings to be condemned by the church. The document, called the Tome of Damasus, included the following statements:

"If anyone denies that the Father is eternal, that the Son is eternal, and that the Holy Spirit is eternal: he is a heretic."
Search as you may, you will not find one scripture that uses the word Trinity, nor will you find any that says that Father, Son, and holy spirit are equal in all ways, such as in eternity, power, position, and wisdom. Not even a single scripture says that the Son is equal to the Father in those ways-and if there were such a scripture, it would establish not a Trinity but at most a "duality." Nowhere does the Bible equate the holy spirit with the Father.

Trinitarians may say that the Bible "implies" a Trinity. But this claim is made long after the Bible was written. It is an attempt to read into the Bible what clergymen of later times arbitrarily decided should be doctrine.

Ask yourself: Why would the Bible only "imply" its most important teaching-who God is? The Bible is clear on other basic teachings; why not on this, the most important one? Would not the Creator of the universe author a book that was clear on his being a Trinity if that were the case? The reason the Bible does not clearly teach the Trinity doctrine is simple: It is not a Bible teaching. Had God been a Trinity, he would surely have made it clear so that Jesus and his disciples could have taught it to Matthew 28:19, 20. There the Father, the Son, and the holy spirit are mentioned together. Some claim that this implies a Trinity. But read the verses yourself. Is there anything in those texts that says that the three are one God equal in eternity, power, position, and wisdom? No, there is not. did not Jesus say on one occasion, "I and the Father are one"? (John 10:30) Yes, he did. However, that statement does not even suggest a "Trinity," since he spoke of only two as being one, not three.

. Jesus was surely not contradicting the scriptures we have already read. What he meant by this expression he himself made clear later when he prayed regarding his followers that "they may be one just as we are one." (John 17:22) Jesus and his Father are "one" in that Jesus is in full harmony with his Father. And he prayed that all his followers might likewise be in harmony with his Father, with Jesus and with one another.

I agree on a lot, of what you are saying about the trinity

Quote:
Mat 12:31-32 Therefore I say to you, All kinds of sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven to men, but the blasphemy against the Holy Spirit shall not be forgiven to men. (32) And whoever speaks a word against the Son of Man, it shall be forgiven him. But whoever speaks against the Holy Spirit, it shall not be forgiven him, either in this world or in the world to come.

If the 3 are one, why would Yeshua have said this??

" (If the Holy Spirit were a person and were God, this text would flatly contradict the Trinity doctrine, because it would mean that in some way the Holy Spirit was greater than the Son. Instead, what Jesus said shows that the Father, to whom the "Spirit" belonged, is greater than Jesus, the Son of man.)

The general opinion in Christendom is that the holy spirit is a person, "the third person of the Trinity," coequal and coeternal with God. Does the Bible show the holy spirit to be a person? If not, then what is it?

the holy spirit appeared as a dove at the time Jesus was baptized and in the form of tongues of fire at Pentecost,

indistinctness in the teachings of Justin Martyr and others of the early church fathers concerning the spirit," as to being a person.

To understand a Scriptural subject it is always well to begin by going to the original tongue. Thus in the Christian Greek Scriptures the word "spirit" with two exceptions translates the Greek word pneuma, from which we get the words pneumatic and pneumonia. Pneuma, however, is translated not only "spirit" 288 times, but also "ghost" 91 times, "wind" once, "life" once, "spiritually" once and "spiritual gift" once. (King James Version) That "ghost" is a mistranslation is generally recognized.

The Greek word pneuma literally means "wind" and it will help us to understand our subject when we note that in all the various ways in which it is used it is like the wind in that it is invisible and powerful, showing itself in visible effects. Thus it is used to refer to invisible persons: "God is a Spirit." Christ Jesus "the last Adam became a life-giving spirit" at his resurrection. Angels are "all spirits for public service."-John 4:24; 1 Cor. 15:45;

: "Every kind of sin and blasphemy will be forgiven men, but the blasphemy against the spirit will not be forgiven. For example, whoever speaks a word against the Son of man, it will be forgiven him; but whoever speaks against the holy spirit, it will not be forgiven him, no, not in the present system of things nor in that to come." Jesus' words here defy explanation if the holy spirit is the third person of a coequal trinity, but they do make sense when we consider it as God's active force. By means of this active force Jesus had cast out demons, and his opposers, in attributing this manifestation of God's holy spirit or active force to the Devil, were blaspheming the holy spirit. Sins against God and Christ can be forgiven because such could be due to ignorance, but sins against a manifestation of God's holy spirit are willful, deliberate and malicious, and so for such there is no forgiveness.

The Holy Scriptures tell us the personal name of the Father-Jehovah. They inform us that the Son is Jesus Christ. But nowhere in the Scriptures is a personal name applied to the holy spirit.

Acts 7:55, 56 reports that Stephen was given a vision of heaven in which he saw "Jesus standing at God's right hand." But he made no mention of seeing the holy spirit

God is a spirit, angels are spirits and are holy are they not?

The Bible provides a specific example of one who blasphemed God and Christ but did not become guilty of unforgivable sin. This one was Saul, or the apostle Paul, prior to his conversion. Paul wrote to Timothy: "Formerly I was a blasphemer [abusive speaker] and a persecutor and an insolent man."-1 Tim. 1:13; compare An American Translation; The New English Bible.

Before his conversion, Paul regarded disciples of Jesus Christ as apostates deserving of death. He felt that the Mosaic law approved of his course, for that law stated regarding an apostate: "You must not accede to his wish or listen to him, nor should your eye feel sorry for him, nor must you feel compassion, nor cover him protectively; but you should kill him without fail." (Deut. 13:8, 9) Convinced that he was right, Paul continued to act against Christ's disciples in a high-handed, arrogant manner and so revealed himself to be an "insolent man." As a persecutor of Christians, he was one like those of whom Jesus said to his disciples: "Everyone that kills you will imagine he has rendered a sacred service to God." (John 16:2) Paul was guilty of blaspheming or speaking abusively of the Son of God. His hatred for Christ's disciples demonstrated that he viewed Jesus as an impostor and thus he reproached the Christ. By speaking abusively of the Son, Paul was also guilty of blaspheming the Father whom Jesus represented

Persons who with full knowledge deliberately oppose God and Christ, hide the truth and propagate falsehoods make themselves guilty of sinning against God's spirit-a sin that cannot be forgiven. This is what certain Pharisees did in the days of Jesus' earthly ministry. They were eyewitnesses of the miracles and powerful works of God's spirit operating through Jesus Christ. But they refused to glorify Jehovah God. For selfish reasons, they attributed to Satan the work of God through Christ. In this way they sinned against God's spirit.

Dude here, quote -(the holy spirit appeared as a dove at Jesus baptism and as tounges of fire on the day of pentecost)..

This is interesting, because all bibles talk of the Father, Jesus, the Holy Spirit and the Holy Ghost.. Now that adds up to four. There cant be three in the trinity, but four in the trinity - if that doesnt make sense. Then BINGO- your right. lol .It would appear there are 4 in the Godhead. We know the Holy spirit was working on earth before Jesus came. Jesus said it was important He go, and ascend to the Father, so he could send the comforter, or the Holy Ghost!

I have wrote about this already, but will post it again. The Father is diety, when he spoke and created angels, it appears that the Holy Spirit created them as God spoke. Jesus is diety, when jesus spoke and created life on earth, it appears it was the holy ghost, that created this life as jesus spoke. The Holy Ghost in ancient Hebrew is called Shekinah. The Holy Spirit is called El Shaddia! One is the mother of us all, and the other is the twin sister of Jesus christ.

esus was born, not created. He was born with a twin, the Holy Ghost or Shekinah! This pattern would have been seen with Cain and Able, who would have been born with a twin sister, who later became their wives. Sin disrupted this pattern.

In the garden of Eden in genisis, chapter 1, it says, lets "US" make man in our image, Male and FEMALE, made He them.. So we see that man and women are made in the image of the Godhead, because ther is male and female in the Godhead. The Father and the Holy Spirit go together; and Jesus and the Holy Ghost go together. Father, Mother, and Son, Daughter; its the same pattern on earth.

What bothers me tremendously is how could we have read the same bible for a thousand years and count 4 as being three. And never saw that. Someone or something is controlling the minds of humanity and this is a classic example of it. We all know God+ Holy Spirit+Jesus+Holy Ghost = 4... But somehow we translate that into a trinity, or 3...

This is really demonic stuff here, this kind of controll over people. What kind of chance do we have to find truth, when this type of mind controll is being put on humans? Not a chance in hell. Thank God we serve a mighty God, who is merciful and gracious, or every single one of us would burn in fire, because of this mind controll over us.

think it comes from the morpho-genetic grid; the next dimension out; where "target armys" point mind weapons at us, to controll our thoughts. Many out of the body travelors, have reported seeing this go on. So what is going on really? Who are we really? How do we learn truth really? How do we handle, mind controll? How do we share truth without getting killed, or hassled?

How do we add up 4, into a trinity, or 3? Who the hell put that kind of math on us? What kind of freaking world do we really live in? Is their any escape from mind controll? Does 4 really equal 3? I dont think so.

And what does it mean, after a thousand yrs of adding 4 to equal 3, suddenly we see that 4=4? Is this a sign the end is near? Is this a sign, we could all be killed because we see 4=4, and does not =3? What the hell is going on? In Jesus name - amen.
