If you look at the psalms in the old testament, you will see that their are no titles to each song in psalms. BAck then they would use the first line in the psalm to tell which song the were about to sing. This has been researched. In psalm22 the first line is what?..."My God, My God, why has thou forsaken me?" If you keep reading you will see that David was singing a prophetic song about the cross. It is the whole story of the time that Jesus was on the cross.

Also, If God had to turn His back on the sin on Jesus then that means that He cannot look at us. He is the Forgiver of all sins great and small. Where does it ever say tht God turned His face or back on Jesus? It doesn't! If you can find it please show me where I will recant! He is the God that cannot fail and He would never fail me!

God was tired of animal sacrifice and some crazy nuts in other babylonian faiths were sacrficeing their kids! Something about a good harvest. No thanks, I'd rather starve! Anyway, God felt like people had grown up enough to be responsible for their own sins instead of making somebody else be the priest. God sent Jesus to be the ultimate and final blood sacrifice. So nobody else would have to die and no more animals. Now we can confess that we believe that Jesus is Lord, that eh was born of the virgin Mary, suffered and died on the cross for our sins an was raised to life again, thereby conquering death, hell and the grave......and believeing this, we will be saved if we confess it with our mouth!

Much easier than all that other stuff! I couldn't kill an animal anyway. poor thing!

So whatcha think?

I agree with you 100%.
I have heard this message preached in just about every protestant church I have been to, and I always had a problem with it. This had been a stumbling block for my faith for years. If God let down his own Son what chance does a sinner like me have? This interpretation of passage has two serious problems. Number one, God the father turned his back on his Son when he needed him most. Number two, it gives the appearance that Jesus was bewildered and distraught, and that he was failing. I knew this had to be wrong and God showed me the connection to the two verses about year ago. Jesus wasn't crying out in desperation, he was crying out in victory. He had fulfilled all the prophecy and his suffering was coming to an end. It was right after this that he bowed his head and gave up the ghost. I think it's important that others see the connection so I am posting the section of the chapter that speaks to the prophecy of His crucifixion.
Quote:

6But I am a worm, and no man; a reproach of men, and despised of the people.

7All they that see me laugh me to scorn: they shoot out the lip, they shake the head, saying,

8He trusted on the LORD that he would deliver him: let him deliver him, seeing he delighted in him.

9But thou art he that took me out of the womb: thou didst make me hope when I was upon my mother's breasts.

10I was cast upon thee from the womb: thou art my God from my mother's belly.

11Be not far from me; for trouble is near; for there is none to help.

12Many bulls have compassed me: strong bulls of Bashan have beset me round.

13They gaped upon me with their mouths, as a ravening and a roaring lion.

14I am poured out like water, and all my bones are out of joint: my heart is like wax; it is melted in the midst of my bowels.

15My strength is dried up like a potsherd; and my tongue cleaveth to my jaws; and thou hast brought me into the dust of death.

16For dogs have compassed me: the assembly of the wicked have inclosed me: they pierced my hands and my feet.

17I may tell all my bones: they look and stare upon me.

18They part my garments among them, and cast lots upon my vesture.

19But be not thou far from me, O LORD: O my strength, haste thee to help me.

Mat 27:46 And about the ninth hour, Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani? That is, My God, My God, why have You forsaken me?

Quote:
Psa 22:1-31 To the Chief Musician, on the deer of the dawn. A Psalm of David.
My God, my God, why have You forsaken me, and are far from my deliverance, and from the words of my groaning? (2) O my God, I cry in the daytime, but You do not answer; and in the night, and am not silent. (3) But You are holy, enthroned on the praises of Israel. (4) Our fathers trusted in You; they trusted, and You delivered them. (5) They cried to You, and were delivered; they trusted in You, and were not ashamed. (6) But I am a worm, and no man; a reproach of men, and despised by the people. (7) All who see Me mock me; they shoot out the lip; they shake the head, saying, (8) He trusted on Jehovah; let Him deliver Him; let Him rescue Him, since He delights in Him! (9) For You are He who took Me out of the womb, causing Me to trust while on My mother's breasts. (10) I was cast on You from the womb; You are My God from My mother's belly. (11) Be not far from Me; for trouble is near, for there is none to help. (12) Many bulls have circled around Me; strong bulls Of Bashan have surrounded Me. (13) They opened wide their mouths on Me, like a ripping and a roaring lion. (14) I am poured out like water, and all My bones are spread apart; My heart is like wax; it is melted in the midst of My bowels. (15) My strength is dried up like a potsherd, and My tongue clings to My jaws; (16) and You have brought Me into the dust of death. For dogs have circled around Me; the band of spoilers have hemmed Me in, piercers of My hands and My feet. (17) I can count all My bones; they look and stare at Me. (18) They divide My garments among them and cast lots for My clothing. (19) But You, O Jehovah, be not far from Me; O My strength, hurry to help Me! (20) Deliver My soul from the sword, My only one from the dog's hand. (21) Save Me from the lion's mouth; from the wild oxen's horns. You have answered Me. (22) I will declare Your name to My brothers; in the midst of the congregation I will praise You. (23) You who fear Jehovah, praise Him; all of you, the seed of Jacob, glorify Him; and fear Him all the seed of Israel. (24) For He has not despised nor hated the affliction of the afflicted; and He has not hidden His face from him, but when he cried to Him, He heard. (25) My praise shall be of You in the great congregation; I will pay My vows before the ones who fear Him. (26) The meek shall eat and be satisfied; those who seek Jehovah shall praise Him; your heart shall live forever. (27) All the ends of the world shall remember and turn to Jehovah; and all the families of the nations shall worship before You. (28) For the kingdom is Jehovah's; and He is the ruler among the nations. (29) All the fat ones on the earth shall eat and worship; all those who go down to the dust shall bow before Him; and none can keep alive his own soul. (30) A seed shall serve Him; it shall be spoken of Jehovah to the coming generation. (31) They shall come, and shall declare His righteousness to a people that shall yet be born, that He has done this.

I have heard off quite a few people, that what is taught is this:
Quote:

"due to the fact Christ took on the weight of the worlds sin, God couldn't look at him on the cross".

I disagree completely and this is not what Christ was sent for, or true in the slightest!!

In fact it is Anti-Christ doctrine, as according to Isaiah and the scripture people love to quote:

Quote:
Isa 53:5 But He was wounded for our transgressions; He was bruised for our iniquities; the chastisement of our peace was on Him; and with His stripes we ourselves are healed.

Yet what the church has not done and the Pharisees doctrine (Paul and John) have made the rest of it not clear.

Quote:
Isa 53:10 Yet it pleased Jehovah to bruise him; he hath put him to grief: when they shall make his soul an offering for sin, he shall see his seed, he shall prolong his days, and the pleasure of Jehovah shall prosper in his hand.

As I have explain in one of the articles, an intercessor is not to take the sin as quoted in John's lies! Yet an intercessor is to explain something to the judge, i.e. God!

So Christ doesn't take sins, God does!! Christ can explain things to God, yet God is judge and ruler.

Final decision is always left up to the king, not the prince.
Yet if you have been a friend of the prince, he can explain to his father.

Having been to heaven my self and seeing this first hand, I find it scary, as many have fallen into the snare as Isaiah puts it.

Believing that, been washed in the blood of Christ they may recieve eternal life.

Quote:
Mat 23:25-30 Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you cleanse the outside of the cup and of the dish, but inside they are full of extortion and excess. (26) Blind Pharisee! First cleanse the inside of the cup and of the dish, so that the outside of them may be clean also. (27) Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you are like whitewashed tombs, which indeed appear beautiful outside, but inside they are full of dead men's bones, and of all uncleanness. (28) Even so you also appear righteous to men outwardly, but inside you are full of hypocrisy and iniquity. (29) Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! Because you build the tombs of the prophets, and decorate the tombs of the righteous, (30) and say, If we had been in the days of our fathers, we would not have been partakers with them in the blood of the prophets.

I would love to post all of matthew 23, as this is so clear if you forget Pharisee doctrine i.e. Paul and John

Read it your selfs digest it and wake up, you can not follow Paul, Simon and John and follow Christ!
