Mat 13:20-21

(20) But he that received the seed into stony (plural of Peter) places, the same is he that heareth the word, and anon with joy receiveth it;

(21) Yet hath he not root in himself, but dureth for a while: for when tribulation or persecution ariseth because of the word, by and by he is offended.

Mar 4:5-6

(5) And some fell on stony (plural of Peter) ground, where it had not much earth; and immediately it sprang up, because it had no depth of earth:

(6) But when the sun was up, it was scorched; and because it had no root, it withered away.

Mar 4:16-17

(16) And these are they likewise which are sown on stony (plural of Peter) ground; who, when they have heard the word, immediately receive it with gladness;

(17) And have no root in themselves, and so endure but for a time: afterward, when affliction or persecution ariseth for the word's sake, immediately they are offended.

Amo 9:9

(9) For, lo, I will command, and I will sift the house of Israel among all nations, like as corn is sifted in a sieve, yet shall not the least grain fall upon the earth.

Luk 22:31

(31) And the Lord said, Simon, Simon, behold, Satan hath desired to have you, that he may sift you as wheat:

Isa 30:28

(28) And his breath, as an overflowing stream, shall reach to the midst of the neck, to sift the nations with the sieve of vanity: and there shall be a bridle in the jaws of the people, causing them to err.
