Skateboard trick for Guitar

Don't know if you are aware of this, yet a trick skateboarders do, so they can slide easy over things like curbs etc...is to wax these first...
so idea got me think it when i was playing guitar one day and wanted to do the same thing.
so you can get a candle, wax your strings, which removes scratches as you slide notes, yet keeping the same sound more or less.
