The Early Church in the start of the book of Acts were not called Christians until Antioch; the terminology 'Christian' was specifically given to Paul/Saul (שׁאול) & Simon the stumbling stone's (petros) ministry.

James the Just head of the Church of Jerusalem was an Ebionite, and he challenged Saul on his Pharisaic beliefs.

Simon joined Saul (Hell), leaving the Ebionite Church as Yeshua prophesied he would (Luke 22:31), and the world has then built on the Pharisaic Stumbling Stone (petros/eben), not on the Rock (petras/tsur) of Salvation (H3444 - Yeshua).

This was prophesied in the Parable of the Wicked Husbandmen (Luke 20:9-19, Mark 12:1-12, Matthew 21:33-46), that the Pharisees would teach we get an inheritance from Yeshua's death, whereas many will be condemned for it.

'Saul/Sheol' created a 'Covenant of Death' (Isaiah 28:15+18) about the 'Chief Corner Stone' (Isaiah 28:16), as all part of the 'Bed of Adultery' (Isaiah 28:9-19+20-21).
