@AaronAbke - If we take into account of the positions: the angel is sent from Heaven, with the authority of God sending them; which then means Saul is on the opposite side.
This becomes more apparent, when we recognize that Saul & Sheol (Hell) are spelled the same in Hebrew (שׁאול).
In the Greek religion Hades is ruler over the underworld called Hades, in the Norse religion Hel is ruler over the underworld called Hell, and in the Hebrew religion Shaul was ruler over the lower realms called Shaul.
Literally according to Biblical prophecy Saul/Sheol is fulfilling the role of the devil accusing Christ, and creating a Covenant of Death (Isaiah 28:15+18) about the Chief Corner Stone (Isaiah 28:16), in the Middle of the Bed of Adultery (Isaiah 28:9-19+20-21).
Saul is Snaring the Gentiles using the Messiah as bait, with some thinking that they are serving God doing so - as stated in Jeremiah 5:26.
