Is it just me or do elder flowers, as called come originally from a colder climate like Iceland for instance and in this is why they mould.
They are ok in a field environment, yet due to our nature of woodland in UK and Europe, it does look like they rot the oak?
As they seem to grow in the shade of the oak, from the heat, yet in the process produce Dutch oak disease.
Since we sort of know, that the Dutch are from Iceland area to begin with, we can sort of guess, that maybe the elder flower many years ago was fetched in to UK and Europe!
Yet the nature of our climate is different to that of the elder or Edam flower, as we also believe it may have been called.
Now yes it contains healing properties, yet in the amount an oak does and the wealth of shade a full oak develops for nature isn't it right to replant oaks; Where needed also.
As we found from ripping elders flowers up, that it is against the law of a druid to kill.
We can chop off the heads of the elder flowers, that grow near oaks and so allow nature to return first and foremost, to where it belongs and then the elder flowers will not impair on the growth of one of the most majestic trees.

Then the oaks rooting can spread as elder flowers are very shallow and hollow so do not provide the required nitrates for oak as need, as you will find in ancient woodland still, which has done a good job of defending accept for where farming land invades woodland!
It is a battle of species and the plants are dieing from our lack of previous knowledge of history and missing verifiable in cultravating in different climates.
As we now see as the world's weather patterns, are about to go into hyper drive unless we do something about it soon.
