The Lord's Rest

There is a promise that the Lord will bring rest to the people, and be their king amongst them.

One of the first places we find the word for rest, is when Noah sent out a dove, and it came back not finding a place to rest.
Quote:
Genesis 8:9 But the dove found no rest for the sole of her foot. And she returned to him into the ark, for the waters were on the face of the whole earth. Then he put out his hand and took her, and pulled her in to him into the ark.

Then as they came out of Egypt, there becomes a promise that the Lord will find them rest in a land that they can call their own.
Quote:
Numbers 10:33 And they moved three days' journey from the mountain of Jehovah. And the ark of the covenant of Jehovah went before them in the three days' journey, to look for a resting-place for them.

This promise expands to the Lord will sanctify this place, so that they shall dwell safely in the land; yet within this promise there are other contexts, that the Lord will remove the false religions from the land, so that all will know true monotheism - which is to honour the Lord of Creation, and the God Most High as the only thing to be worshipped.
Quote:
Deuteronomy 12:9-10 For you have not as yet come to the rest and to the inheritance which Jehovah your God gives you. (10) But when you go over Jordan and live in the land which Jehovah your God gives you to inherit, and He gives you rest from all your enemies all around, so that you live in safety.

When we come to the time of the 1st temple, and after David's kingdom, many felt this was the Lord's rest that had been promised; yet when we look overall, for this truly to be fulfilled, all the fake religious ideas were also meant to be removed.
Quote:
1 Kings 8:56-58 Blessed be Jehovah, who has given rest to His people Israel, according to all that He promised. There has not failed one word of all His good promise which He promised by the hand of Moses His servant. (57) May Jehovah our God be with us as He was with our fathers. Let Him not leave us nor forsake us, (58) to incline our hearts to Himself, to walk in all His ways and to keep His commandments and His statutes and His judgments which He commanded our fathers.

By the time of the prophet Micah, he announces that the Lord doesn't find the people to be keeping to the standards expected of them, and so instead the rest they had, was to be removed.
Quote:
Micah 2:10 Arise and depart! For this is not your rest, because of destroying uncleanness, even a grievous destruction.

When Yeshua came at the time of the 2nd temple, because the Leaders paid 30 pieces of silver for the price of their King sent by God (Messiah), the Curse of Moses in Deuteronomy 28 was placed on Israel - who were then persecuted from nation to nation because of the Curse; where it was promised that they would not find rest, until the Lord returns to redeem them in Deuteronomy 30.
Quote:
Deuteronomy 28:64-66 And Jehovah shall scatter you among all people, from the one end of the earth even to the other, and you shall serve other gods there, which neither you nor your fathers have known, wood and stone. (65) And among these nations you shall find no ease, neither shall the sole of your foot have rest. But Jehovah shall give you there a trembling heart and failing of eyes and sorrow of mind. (66) And your life shall hang in doubt before you, and you shall fear day and night, and shall have no assurance of your life.

Because they kept rebelling, and following idolatry, the Lord said that they won't find rest, until they keep to what was required.
Quote:
Psalms 95:10-11 For forty years I was grieved with this generation, and said, It is a people who go astray in their hearts, and they have not known My ways; (11) to whom I swore in My wrath that they should not enter into My rest.

The Messiah returns like a Parable of the 'Fig before Summer' (Isaiah 28:4), to announce that the Lord's rest is placed within him, and that the time of Judgement Day is coming; where those who've honoured what was given, shall then be brought into the Messianic Age, and two thirds shall be removed from reality.

Because many have been taught that they already have rest in the Lines surrounding Isaiah 34, they're about to be incinerated as stated in Deuteronomy 29, where their leaders have taught them they already have peace.
Quote:
Isaiah 28:11-13 for with stammering lips and another tongue He will speak to this people. (12) To whom He said, This is the rest; cause the weary to rest; and this is the refreshing. Yet they were not willing to hear. (13) But the Word of Jehovah was to them precept on precept, precept on precept; line on line, line on line; here a little, there a little; that they might go, and fall backward, and be broken and snared and taken.

Because they'd not listen to what they'd been instructed, and instead the Pharisaic authors made up Christianity, they've created the Bed of Adultery, telling people that they've got an inheritance from the Messiah's murder, and rather than be corrected that they'll get incinerated in the Judgement Day Fire, they've placed themselves into a noose, going from 'Line to Line' in Isaiah 34.
Quote:
Isaiah 34:14 The wild beasts of the desert shall also meet with the howling beasts; and the shaggy goat shall cry to his fellow. The screech owl also shall rest there, and find for herself a place of rest.

When the Lord's rest is given, this reality will be restored to the Garden of Eden in a day, and then after there will be an everlasting covenant, where the rest promised by the Lord will truly be fulfilled.
Quote:
Isaiah 32:15-18 until the Spirit is poured on us from on high, and the wilderness becomes a fruitful field, and the fruitful field is thought to be a forest. (16) Then judgment shall dwell in the wilderness, and righteousness remain in the fruitful field. (17) And the work of righteousness shall be peace; and the service of righteousness shall be quietness and hope forever. (18) And my people shall dwell in a peaceable home, and in secure dwellings and quiet resting places.

The Messiah is symbolically given the name of Zion the Divine Being (Psalms 146:10, Psalms 147:12, Isaiah 52:7), where the Lord's spirit is placed within him, as the King to lead the people into the promise.
Quote:
Psalms 132:10-14 For Your servant David's sake, turn not away the face of Your anointed. (11) Jehovah has sworn to David in truth; He will not turn from it; Of the fruit of your body I will set on the throne for you. (12) If your sons will keep My covenant and My testimonies which I shall teach them, their sons shall also sit on your throne forever. (13) Jehovah has chosen Zion; He has desired it for His dwelling-place. (14) This is My rest forever; here I will dwell; for I have desired it.

Whereas mankind wants a temple for God, God doesn't need a temple built with human hands; yet the Lord places its spirit within living beings, and has chosen the Messiah as a humble vessel to fulfil the Lord's desires.
Quote:
Isaiah 66:1-2 So says Jehovah, Heaven is My throne, and earth My footstool. Where, then, is the house that you build for Me? And where is the place of My rest? (2) For all those My hand has made, and all those exist, says Jehovah. But to this one I will look, to the afflicted and contrite spirit, and the one who trembles at My Word.

The Messiah is a return of King David & Yeshua, with the spirit of the Lord placed upon him; where the rest promised is within the Messiah, to share advanced wisdom from God with the people, and to bring those worthy into the Messianic Age.
Quote:
Isaiah 11:10 And in that day there shall be the Root of Jesse standing for a banner of the people; to Him the nations shall seek; and His resting place shall be glorious.

The final outcome of the Lord's rest, is the restoration of a glorious kingdom, without all of those who'd not accept the Lord's standards.
It is very clear over the history of this concept that the leaders will lie to the people to pretend that they already have that rest - yet in doing so, causing everyone's destruction instead.
