@Paul Davis - Simon really didn't pay attention to what Yeshua was saying, as he was Pharisaic - which is why in Matthew 16:18, Yeshua called him petros (Stumbling Stone), in fulfilment of Zechariah 3:9 & Isaiah 8:14, that he'd help mislead the world.

We have Midrash saying that though Simon helped start the Ebionites, in Acts 11:25-26 he joined Saul to create Christianity.

Yeshua (H3444) was prophesied in the Tanakh to be the spirit of the Creator (YHVH), with the flesh of David - so Saul has accurately exegeted the Messiah's ontology (Romans 1:3).

Whereas Simon's miscomprehension that the Messiah was a man come down from Heaven is stupid; the Messiah is like a Boddhisatva, who chose & was prophesied to come into this world as the King of Kings, no one else can be that role.

To understand the theology properly, we need to understand that the Babylonian Jews are henotheists - where they believe that the Creator (YHVH) is God, and have rejected the rest of the Divine Council, so they don't believe that they are henotheistic.

Basically Christ is not God (El - H410), yet God's highest Archangel/Avatar (Eloh - H433), and Head of the Divine Council/Avatars (Elohim - H430).
