"There are two monks and they are crossing the river.
A woman approaches one and asks "can he help her across the river"; he refuses and the other accepts.
Once they are walking home the monk asks "why did you carry her a cross the river"
The monk replies "well, I only carried her across the river; you're still carrying her!"

Then he understood!

Third try is a charm!

Simple enough...I love this story and have heard it many times.

Too often this is the state of "mans" mind throughout a lifetime. It seems so much the wiser too remember such a story and choose differently as the monk who took action and then let it go. Rather than be the dweller who carries the load for endless days and nights or perhaps...

Thank you for the humble reminder and pondering thoughts.

I wonder though what if just up the road, let's say 1/2 mile the woman could have easily crossed on her own. Should she have been encouraged to do it on her own, to travel a little farther down the path before requesting such assistance, as to be carried by another? What would the outcome be? Could she have learned self reliance, trust, self sufficiency, independence?

Am I know the wise one or the dweller?

Love and Gratitude,
