Freewill

Freewill is not a single option.
We do not choose our point of origin, gender or general appearance. Nor do we select genetic abnormalities or psychological strengths and weaknesses.
We do not opt for natural disasters or control regional weather patterns. We do not choose present economic conditions, social norms and values or the system of gevernment established by our forefathers.
We do not choose the lessons taught by our elders, the degree of negativity or encouragement with which we are raised. We are determined biologicly, environmentaly, socially, financially, by the thoughts and actions of those who have lived before us and by the thoughts and actions of those who live today. We are determined by our own ignorance to choose from options and alternatives we are aware of.

At the same time we are free. We enjoy freedoms that reflect tasts and personal preferences, and are free to the degree of awareness of the factors that inifluence our lives.
We are free to wage war, to ignore those in need, to disregard the feelings and wishes of others. We are free to choose rite from wrong, to persue our own selfish desires, to destroy life on a planitary scale. Some of us even feel free enough to summon and pass judgment on that which has made our existence possible. But, not without consequences.

True freedom stems from integrity and coming to terms with that which is linked to our spirits and that which touches our hearts. True freedom comes from understanding and excepting what is. Where freedom is bestowed on the basis of one's point of origin and or financial standing, there will be no peace. The real question is, do we want to be free or do we want to be loved? There is a world with love, or a world without. Which of the two is greater?

A Poem to a Friend

For you, I write this simple poem, esposing parts of me. Why?
You've seen me as a victim of the things that I don't see. Believe me,
There's nowhere in your mind that you can go I haven't been. It's just,
the game that's going on rite now, not everyone can win.
Not too many realize what freedom has become.
We're free to choose between the game, the prison or the slum.
Some have other options and can play on their own terms.
Still others prey on smaller fish, like in employment firms.
Attitude is crucial but it's not all up to you.
You think that you controll the day? That's only partly true.
With both eyes fixed ahead ambitions sometimes loose the way.
If it takes too great a toll on one, perhaps one shouldn't play.
No bible code will break the force of what is yet to come.
Another thousand years may pass before the deed is done.
You live to work, I work to live, there is no one to blame.
and, though our aim is different our desires are the same.
Peace of mind and dignity, the unity of man.
To know that everywhere you go extends a friendly hand.
An end to the injustice, a part from selfishness,
the launch of an assault against our races ignorance.
Until that time, just hold on tight, it should be quite a ride.
Until that time, my comfort zone is where I shall reside
This game is almost over, and a new game will begin.
It's the one I've come to play, the one where everyone can win.

Untitled

Small rewards are offered those who sacrifice and teach.
Wisdom has no value now and virtue's out of reach.
Social values grant us great rewards for games we play.
The sons of man divided into predators and pray.

When will we realize that virtue is it's own reward?
That love and light and truth and peace denied we can't afford.
To move ahead we must deny the "I", that separates,
and live one life, one truth, one dream, one stand at Heavens Gates.
