The Green Thread I find fascinating, especially the more we are all studying it together.

The idea in Genesis 1:29 the Creator told us our diet (that is biologically designed), and we lived around a thousand years, then after we started eating meat, and it was shortened to around a hundred.

Recently on double checking, as to answer Genesis 8:20-21, is that mankind does evil things; so in Genesis 9:2-3 the Creator sets a time period for animals fearing us, as some of us will eat them.

Moses after Babylon to match that the people demanded meat after Egypt (Numbers 11), made Laws for blessing the animals - as they believed it made it sanctified (Kosher).

During the 1st Temple period the Levitical priesthood became the orthodoxy, where they then created the book of Numbers - as to justify its history, and they established a sacrificial system for atonement, that then got Canonized in Babylon with the book of Leviticus.

After Babylon (where Daniel 1:8-16 didn't eat animals & wine, showing that was a standard) the opposite standard was practised by the Pharisees, Sadducees, & Levites - where there were Rivers of Blood flowing out of the 2nd Temple, which the Essenes believed to be an abomination.

The Essenes believed John the Baptist was a precursor to the Messiah, who would tare down their defiled temple, and liberate them, yet then be murdered by the leaders as prophesied in Zechariah 11, Isaiah 53.

The Ebionites ('Poor Ones' - Zechariah 11:11) were the early church, who were also vegetarian like the Essenes; yet then Pauline Christianity came along (Acts 11:25-26), and rewrote the Gospel back to a Pharisaic blood covenant.

Prophecy though says these foolish Shepherds get removed in Ezekiel 34, Jeremiah 23, when the Messiah restores the Kingdom - at that same time period, an ever lasting Covenant is then made with nature, where the animals shall dwell safely in the land again (Ezekiel 34:25, Hosea 2:18).
